A day in the Life

Following yesterday's post of getting it all done, I thought I would break down even further and try to have it make more sense.  A typical morning starts off at 5:45 am. With a lovely visit from my alarm clock. Usually I hit snooze and then I am up by 6. Depending on the day, I either exercise for 30 minutes or I hop on the computer to try and check email. I really have to get in a better habit of exercising every morning, the days I do, they go so much smoother and I feel so much better.

6:45- shower (Mama dress)

7:00- start laundry (I usually try to have it sorted and ready to go, so all I have to do is throw it in the machine)

7:15- Peanut up/start breakfast ( I try to have it already sorted/started, at least it is already planned)
His favorite is ice cream for breakfast!

7:30- 8:15 breakfast with Peanut, hang out enjoy each other's company, I love this time. We are really able to focus on our conversation and he gets my undivided attention.

8:15- Peanut morning chores (make bed, brush teeth,) mama, clothes in dryer or on clothes line, sometimes both! Another load in the washer.

8:30- Pumpkin up, breakfast, usually Peanut and I sit with her while she eats, sometimes we hang out.

8:45- Peanut to the bus, mama and Pumpkin, walk him to the bus, wait for him to get on and then we go for a morning walk.

9:15/9:30- depending on our length of walk, back home, clothes in the washer/dryer etc. Check today's to-do list, make adjustments, changes.

9:30-10:30 independent play time for pumpkin, weather permitting we go outside, I try to make any phone calls I have to do during this time. Depending on the morning and the to do list, this also becomes our morning errand trip. Grocery store, post office, bank, mystery shop etc.

11:00-12:00- make and have lunch. I try to make easy meals during the week, especially when it is just the two of us.

12:00-2:30- pumpkin nap, mama bring in the dry laundry and fold put on their beds to put away, take pictures of items for blog if need be, finish up little projects, start homework. Finish up any phone calls at this time. Pull out the ingredients for dinner, start some prep, or start thawing freezer meal.  Check my Etsy store account and work on any orders at this time. Chores, check bathrooms depending on the day, run vacuum, dust and sometimes, I say the heck with it, and curl up on the couch with a good book, watch a tv show, catch a nap or relax with a nice bubble. Moms are allowed to have some me time right?

2:30-3:00 Pumpkin wake-up, free play- dress up, get afternoon snack ready for the kids when they come off of the bus. I often watch my neighbors children as well, so I have a house full.
she will play with a mirror for hours

here comes the bus!

3:45-5:45- kids off of the bus, check book bags, kids change into play clothes, eat snack, Peanut puts clothes away, boys off to go play. little one sin the back yard to play.  Start and finish dinner, sometimes we have activities during this time as well, such as scouts. It all depends on the day. For the most part we are pretty good with the timing during this time.

6:00- dinner and dishes put in the dishwasher. I love this time as we are able to talk and catch up, play dinner games.
Meat loaf recipe

6:30-7:00- homework time

7:00-7:30- free choice, tv time, computer time, wii time, (only if all homework is finished and there was no whining etc) must cash in a tech ticket (more about those tomorrow)

7:30-8:00 bath time, while the kiddos are playing in the tub ( I make sure breakfast is ready to go for tomorrow, make the batter, hard boil the eggs, etc), once that is finished, we play in the tub, sometimes I will extend bath time a little longer.

8:00-8:15- pack lunch, Peanut does his and I let Pumpkin pretend to do one as well.

8:15-8:30 check the school schedule for tomorrow, make sure bags are packed, all forms are signed etc.

8:30-9:00- quiet time, read stories, maybe watch a tv show, brush teeth, prayers and into bed.

9:15- lights out and Mama time begins. Usually I finish up on all my homework at this time, respond to emails, check my etsy orders. If Mr. Barefoot in is not on a trip, this is our quality time together, we just sit and enjoy each others company.

12:00-12:30- bed time for Mama!

What does your day look like? now mine doesn't flow so nicely everyday but this is a general run down of how I do it!
