Never lose your gloves again

Peanut was constantly loosing his gloves, I think I went through 7 sets of gloves in one season. I don't know about you but that just is not in our budget, granted I usually buy gloves/mittens when they are on sale, but still.

When I was little I had these little glove clips that hooked onto my sleeves and I never lost a pair of them since I got them. I drove all around looking for them and even searched online and couldn't find them. Starting to get frustrated, I decided to figure out something that I could use at home (to fit in my $0 budget month).

Using an old shoelace and a pair of his gloves, I came up with a solution, and so far so good!

I started by tying a knot in the shoelace, I didn't want it too long, where he was tripping on it.

Then using a simple stitch, I stitched each end of the shoelace to a glove.

I left the plastic piece in the glove and measured where Peanut's hand hit, so that it is did not rub or irritate him.

When I was done attaching everything, I slid the gloves through his sleeves and it looked like this when I was finished. The best part is if I need to (haven't had to yet) adjust the length, I just retie the knot.

Here is what the gloves look like when hanging in his closet.
The best part, they cost me nothing to make, as it was all things I already had and now, Peanut no longer misplaces his gloves. I have been thinking about it for awhile and I thought about adding a snap or those clips like on a set of suspenders to the end of the shoelaces, this way I change out his gloves. That will have to be another day, to see how they hold up.

For the meantime, I made Peanut two sets (after all, I have two shoelaces) and I just toss them in the dryer when they are wet.
